Cory Booker Snows How to Use Twitter

Cory Booker is the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey. He is also on Twitter (@CoryBooker). When Newark got hit hard by a snowstorm this week, Cory took to Twitter in an effort to keep lines of communication open. For three days now he has been in contact with the cities residents, in a very unique, hands on, response to their emergency.

Cory said that Twitter has been “very, very helpful” in dealing with the emergency situation. “It expands my ability to make a positive impact on my constituents and meet the needs of the city,” he added. He has helped people get their streets cleared, when one tweet came through as; “Can we can we please have trucks on Wainwright Street ASAP? My street is terrible!”. Booker’s reply was a simple “On it”. Evidentially he has personally delivered diapers, gotten some people their much needed medicine, and even helped lift a car.

When asked how he was holding up his reply was; “Thanks 4 asking, back killing me: Breakfast: Advil and diet coke.” I just looked at his feed and he’s still on top of it.

Kudos to Mayor Booker for the best use of Twitter this year.
