Scam Awards: PostPositiveResults.com
If you advertise online, and have any of your contact information out there, especially your email, you are open to all sorts of scams. Many of these are blatantly obvious, like the ones from someone with a name like “John Anderson”, who supposedly lives in your vicinity, and has the worst broken English ever. If you are familiar with how people of non English speaking countries speak English you can almost make out where the email originated from. Most of it is pretty hilarious.
Now and then, one really stands out and really makes me take notice. This time it is an email I got through my contact page on this website. This little gem comes from PostPositiveResults.com. It starts off with a subject line stating “You Have Negative Reviews. Google’s Algorithm Change”. OH CRAP! I say to myself. I must investigate this further. Please note the sarcasm in my typing here. The body of the email goes on to tell me that, “Google is now using business reviews to determine business ranking. A search for your business shows at least one negative review.” Please use your imagination and insert more sarcastic comments here. They tell me that they have been doing this for eight years. Wow! Indeed they must be one of the first SEO companies ever.
So now I’m intrigued. I must investigate even further. Well, their website looks like an infomercial. We both know, by now, that is a huge red flag. I ran a whois lookup and found some very interesting info. They are based in China, a place we know doesn’t have the best record with Google, to say the least. They have supposedly have been in operation for eight years now, but their domain was created in December of 2010. What’s more, they want you to pay up to $1500 per month to ensure that any negative reviews are “removed” from Google.
Now, I really don’t know who would actually put up that kind of cash to do what doesn’t really need to be done, but I’m sure there have been those who have tried. Really people, if you want to really deal with any negative reviews your company may have gotten, there are much better ways to do it. Keep it public. Do your best to right the situation. Treat the individual, or the company that feels wronged the same way that you would want to be treated. Do this publicly, on those dreaded review sites, or on which ever social media platform the complaint pops up on. Doing this openly and honestly can only create trust in your brand.
As for PostPositiveResults.com? Thanks for the belly laugh guys. Oh yeah, one more thing: 诽谤不能摧毁一个诚实的人

No. There was no negative review of my site, and there most likely isn’t one of yours. Besides, so what if there is? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and in the social web, it’s not about having zero bad comments, it about how you handle those comments
Mostly though, they make this crap up to scare you into paying them. Complete waste of time and money.
