Are We Too Worried About How Others Are Using Twitter?

My last post was about the use of TrueTwit Validation Service, and should you really be using it or any validation service. It got me thinking about all the posts out there about how and why to use Twitter. I use Twitter both professionally and personally. Many of us do. Some out there use it solely for professional purposes while others use it solely for personal reasons. We, the professionals, have developed our own code of conduct concerning Twitter and its use. We have how to guides on retweeting. We post about what to talk about and how to go about doing it, and then we wine and write...

Create A Usable Social Media Policy

As social media becomes, more and more, a part of people’s lives, business are finding themselves caught by the newly blurred lines between their employees’ personal, and social lives. The internet is still, basically, the untamed frontier, and, in many cases, anything goes. People are making mistakes when posting on the internet. You’d think that this would be a post for Fridays, but I figured that it would be better to see on a Monday, giving you time to get your blog ready for the weekend. Website traffic naturally drops off on the weekends because people simply aren’t out there as much looking for content. That being said, the key to getting more hits on your site during the weekend is the virtually the same as during the week. I have compiled a few short-term strategies that will allow for a quick return after you put them into place. These will not only add hits during the weekend but can also help...

Questions For Anocial

Information is much more valuable when it fills a specific need. The reason for the huge success of search engines is that it enables  people to fulfill that need for specific information. I have a couple of months in now worth of writing posts for Anocial, but I’ve never directly addressed any questions or issues you may have. So let’s do some Q & A. If you have any questions about the topics I have covered or about social media in general, leave a comment or email me. I’d like to see more generalized questions since I’m trying to make the answers relevant to...
