What it's ALL proven to me is the importance of your hub. Your blog. Your content. Your product. Make it fantastic - and you'll be successful in whatever social media network you choose to use. I have been using it for over three years now. It is a bit constraining and yes, the influx of crap is making it frustrating. I find myself talking mainly to one single group of people now, and no longer branching out. G+ is a great concept. It seems much more dynamic, and I think that it will carve out a nice little niche. Twitter used to be king of the hill, but as a communications tool, it is losing ground. There are too many junk tweeters, and I'm tired of having to sift through all the garbage for a good bite. With the launch of Google+, I think people are starting to realize the value of being more social (and exclusive). Twitter is now more valuable as a research tool... search for a keyword and see what people have shared on it. It is also a great deal finder where contests, coupons, and discount codes are still appreciated. I still share urls out there, but I don't think people are watching like they used to.
