Why the Amount of Followers You Have Can be Meaningless

A friend of mine was telling me about his new Twitter account for his business, and bragged about how he had broken the 2000 follower ceiling in under 10 days. He was surprised, to say the least, when I was unimpressed. First off they have  good size off line following. That helps. Klout is the newest social scoring site to make it big. It comes at a time that people are starting to take these kinds of metrics seriously.
