Has the Bubble Popped for Social Media?

Ok, I know that I am not the first to write about this. This type article has been written and rewritten over and over again for the last few years. I am not about to state that social media is dead, far from it really. There are, however, a few alarming trends that I have noticed. Over the last few months I have been decidedly absent from social media. I do not post near as much as I used to. I sometimes go for days without even looking at a feed. I’ve been gone for two main reasons. First, I’ve simply been busy. I’ve been focusing on evolving my business and have gained...

Knoxville TN, Where It’s All About to Happen

First off, just about where ever you happen to live, “it” is all about to happen for you. I live in Knoxville TN, and here is where it is all about to happen, for me. Thanks to the internet, and more recently, social media, we have the ability to digitally expand our businesses to the n’th degree. A physical store front is not a must have any more. We can now reach anywhere and promote our product to almost anyone, worldwide. There is fantastic webdesign being done in San Francisco, in NYC, and in may other creative centers. Words Are Actions and in Social Media, Just as Powerful.

A couple of years ago, my wife, we’ll call her C, and I were driving through down town Knoxville. It was a cold, early winter day. That kind of overcast, damp, November day that makes you cold on the inside. We passed a homeless man without a coat, quite obviously cold by his huddled up, hands-in-pockets stance. C tells me to stop the car and she starts to get out. “Baby, where are you going?” I ask. She said, “I’m going to give him my jacket.”  Now this jacket she “stole” from me. It wasn’t a particularly expensive coat, but there was...

What to Write About When You’re Sick (And Tired)

I feel like hell. I have bronchitis, and my youngest daughter has been up and down all night throwing up. In fact, all five of my children have been passing around the sick all winter. My office sits in our house’s extra bedroom, meaning that while I am working, I wind up tandemly taking care of any and all sick kids. So I guess that I am now sick because I am worn out. I never though I’d hear the phrase, “I am sick and tired” come out of my mouth, yet here it is. I truly am sick and tired. Nope, life certainly isn’t pretty all of the time. Life does, however,...

It Takes Crazy to Change the World

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. ~Apple Computer Inc. In my...
