Why the Amount of Followers You Have Can be Meaningless
A friend of mine was telling me about his new Twitter account for his business, and bragged about how he had broken the 2000 follower ceiling in under 10 days. He was surprised, to say the least, when I was unimpressed. First off they have good size off line following. That helps. Second, you defeat the business purpose of being able to effectively brand yourself, and find potential clients by using an auto follow tool, and any type of get-followers-quickly client. Quality over quantity should be the rule here. Mass amounts of followers is a meaningless metric, even more so when the...

Do you have the post Christmas blues? I do. The presents are open, the tree has been taken down and the new year is here. It’s like the wind has died and my sails are empty. My kids are still bouncing off the walls. The newness of the toys hasn’t worn off yet. Their excitement puts a smile on my face, albeit a bit bittersweet. The thought of getting back to work has a tarnished copper tinge to it, like a dirty penny. It’s a reminder of the day to day fight. See that path, fraught with stones, and brambles?...

Everywhere I go, there are people. People at the grocery, people driving past me, people at home and at the park. People living out their lives, doing what they can to make their lives just a little bit easier. They are all facing challenges and solving problems on a daily basis. None of them cares one bit about my company, or yours. What they do care about is finding answers to life’s daily challenges. Problems are handed to us in many different forms. Some people are overweight. Some need their business to generate more sales, while others have concentration problems. These...
